Kultrun
Neruda Arts’ Kultrún World Music Festival is the Region’s only family friendly celebration of diversity featuring local, national and international artists, all-ages interactive activities, workshops, storytelling, theatre, a food and craft market and more.
Having outgrown the Waterloo Public Square, in 2015 Kultrún moves to the cooler, greener grounds of Victoria Park.
2015 is also significant for Kultrún because it is the only arts and culture event in the Waterloo Region selected by Ignite Ontario to host a celebration of the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games. This is helping Neruda Arts program a fantastic line up of world music artists to perform at our 2015 Pan American-themed festival.
Lucho Quequezana, Los Van Van, and Anita Tijoux are just a few of the artists who are under consideration for this year’s festival.

*Kultrún (cool-troon). For the Mapuche people of Chile a Kultrún is not simply a drum, it is also the heartbeat of life embodied in the sound and rhythm of a drum.
